Bringing young people from many different regions and cultures of the world is an important ISA activity. Tasking such young people with discussing and debating issues of global significance, which will require peaceful resolution through awareness and leadership in the future, is an important ISA contribution to global understanding and action.
Our ISA member school, Cempaka, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is organizing this year’s Youth Encounter and Expedition between November 15th programme will give participants an unparalleled opportunity to experience the culture and historical significance of Malacca, Malaysia.
ISA is proud to be co-sponsoring the ‘Building World-Class Private and International Schools – Summit 2013, which is being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia between November 19th and 21st. This is an exciting new international summit, which will provide the unique opportunity to network, share ideas and benchmark progress with leaders of private schools and international schools from around the region. Drawing on case studies and practical examples from a range of educational institutions across the Asia-Pacific, this interactive and practical event will provide delegates with fresh perspectives and insights for enhancing the development of your school and pursuing the development of a world-class educational institution.
ISA is helping the British Council to promote its Internal School Award. The award is given to schools which follow a programme designed to embed internationalism and global awareness in their schools. The Award is currently moderated through local British Council offices, although there are plans to offer a distance learning option in the future. ISA participation in the International and Private Schools Education Forum (IPSEF) , London November 23rd and 24th 2011
ISA will be well represented at the forthcoming International and Private Schools Education Forum (IPSEF)to be held in London between November 23rd and 24th 2011. Mr Luis Martinez, our Chairman, will be speaking on the topic of: ‘How do you successfully develop your school brand overseas’, and Andrew McEwen, our Promotions and Marketing Adviser; will be speaking on: ‘Managing your vision from Finance to Facilities Management’. Both will participate in round table discussions and Q & A sessions.
The event, which is now in its third year, is hosted by the U.K. Department of Trade and Industry and is expected to be attended by more than 100 senior figures from the business, government and education sectors. IPSEF is a unique global conference that combines keynote presentations, round tables, workshops and networking receptions to facilitate effective partnership building for the key players in international education.
IPSEF delegates are responsible for financing, managing, delivering, and supplying major international educational projects and together they will discuss key themes of concern to the delivery of international schools. It is intended that the participation of Mr Martinez and Mr McEwen will help to raise the profile of ISA in what is a very important forum for those involved in International Education.
