Youth Leadership Seminar 2007

ISA 2007 Youth Leadership Seminar

India International School, Jaipur, Rajastan, India

July 6 – 13, 2007

ImageThe International Schools Association is committed to raising young people’s awareness of the many significant global challenges and problems which the world is facing and will continue to face when these young people become adults and are charged with the leadership responsibility of dealing with and resolving such issues.

Among the most serious of these challenges is the management and distribution of the world supply of water. So precious a resource has it become that is being called “Blue Gold”. The  2007 ISA Youth Leadership Seminar will take this as its theme, and we cordially invite students from all ISA Schools to participate in a week of multicultural friendship, debate, discussion and tourism. The ISA offers a number of financial grants to schools who wish to participate in Youth Leadership Seminars.

Art of Peace Project
Quilts are an age-old form of a community based art project, using materials at hand, that serves both the aesthetic and physical needs of the community. Those members contributing to the final product take great pride in their 'squares', the needlework necessary to construct the quilt and in the putting together of the pieces to form a meaningful pattern. Historically, quilts have been made as gifts and as a means to focus on various themes. Working together to make a quilt provides the time to build common bonds and to reach a common goal. Whether wildly colorful or sophisticated and subtle, a quilt is always seen as a wonderful piece of art.

Internationalism in Schools – a Self-Study Guide
For a number of years the International Schools Association has been developing the above “Self-Study Guide”. With the collaboration and support of several international schools and of the Research Unit of the International Baccalaureate Organisation at Bath University, the “Guide” is now available for use.

The ISA hopes that the “Guide” will be seen and used as a constructive tool for all schools, national and international, public and private which wish to review and develop their sense of and engagement with internationalism.

Association Member Schools will be sent a free copy of the “Guide”. Non-Member schools will be able to purchase a copy of the “Guide” on-line for $20.00.

The ISA will be pleased to receive comments from users as we seek to build up a database about the “Guide” and its use.

Please see also associated information under the heading ISA Consultancy Services.
