50 years have passed since its first school, Agora Patufet Infant School, in Sant Cugat de Barcelona
On Wednesday 30th November, Agora International Schools held a live and streamed showcase event to celebrate not just the latest developments in their education project but the 50th anniversary of its very first school, Agora Patufet Infant School, in Sant Cugat in Barcelona.
As part of the internationally renowned network of schools, Globeducate, the event was for families, students and teachers from its six Agora schools in Spain, who were able to connect online and celebrate in their own schools in Agora Lledó International School (in Castellón), Agora Madrid International School, Agora Barcelona International School, Agora Portals International School (in Mallorca) and Agora Andorra International School. In the Agora Sant Cugat Campus, with Agora Sant Cugat International School and its two Infant Schools, Agora Patufet and Agora Pipo, families, students and staff were able to watch live from the Auditorium Josep Carreras or online.
Fifty years have passed since the birth of the Agora Educational Project; it has grown immensely and become a benchmark in the world of education. The event was a way of sharing not just where the Agora schools had come from but where they are going as they improve and modernise their education project.
Innovation in learning has always been a key feature of Agora schools and in the academic year 21/22, new and exciting projects continue to be launched such as the Body, Mind, and Spirit Programme or the very interesting Aula del Mar (Sea Classroom) within the Agora Posidonia Experience.
Its value proposition included sharing about its five key principles in all its schools:
- Implementing the IB
- Teaching students to have a global perspective and become multilingual.
- Developing STEAM.
- Encouraging a healthy life-style with sports and healthy eating.
- Encouraging students to shape the world and be part of the change.
Agora International Schools, with the responsibility of almost 5,000 students, wholeheartedly believe that they have the opportunity and responsibility to lay the foundations for a better future and are committed to educational innovation to prepare students to find their voices and give them the power to act and influence and change the world around them.
