The students from the Agora Lledo International School in Spain, together with the Swostishree Gurukul School in Nepal and the Agora Andorra International School from Andorra, participated in the WFUNA Model United Nations in New York City together with nearly 800 students from schools all over the world.
The students worked hard prior to the event, writing position papers related to the delegations to which they were assigned and the specific agendas. During the week the students worked in different simulations, to negotiate the best for their delegated countries and finally write and amend draft resolutions together.
The opening and closing ceremonies were held in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations Headquarters with speeches given by the permanent representatives of Jamaica and Portugal to the United Nations.
An excellent experience for both the students and their students who were their faculty advisors during their simulation sessions.
We will definately return next year with hopefully more schools from the ISA.
