We were thrilled to announce that Agora Portals has achieved a significant milestone by being authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) school. This prestigious accreditation recognizes our commitment to providing a world-class education to students aged 3 to 11 years old, and we are proud to be the first and only PYP authorized school in the Balearic Islands.
The PYP is an internationally renowned educational framework that focuses on the holistic development of young learners. It places a strong emphasis on inquiry-based learning, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners. Our decision to adopt the PYP methodology was driven by our dedication to delivering a well-rounded education that empowers students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The methodology used in the PYP centers around six transdisciplinary themes that promote an integrated approach to learning. These themes include Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, How We Organize Ourselves, and Sharing the Planet. By exploring these themes, students can make meaningful connections between subjects and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. To ensure the successful implementation of the PYP, our teachers underwent extensive training to become certified PYP educators. The training emphasized the importance of nurturing a positive and inclusive learning environment, facilitating inquiry-based activities, and tailoring teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our teachers’ dedication and commitment to professional development have played a crucial role in achieving the PYP authorization.One of the key aspects that sets the PYP apart is its emphasis on family involvement in the learning process.
We strongly believe that parents and guardians play an integral role in a child’s education journey. As a PYP authorized school, we actively encourage open communication and collaboration between educators and families.
