Reflecting on an Amazing Week of Learning and Cultural Immersion at the Youth Leadership Encounter 2023 about Well-Being and Mental Health hosted by Lakeside School!
What an incredible journey it has been for our students during this unforgettable week in Mexico City! From the moment our participants arrived at CDMX airport, to the final farewells as they checked out on Saturday, each day was filled with enriching experiences, cultural discoveries, and valuable insights.
Arrival and Welcome:
Participants were warmly welcomed upon their arrival, with seamless transportation from CDMX airport to the hotel. The evening kicked off with a delightful dinner, setting the stage for an exciting week ahead.
️ Monday – October 30th:
The week began with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, followed by an amazing inauguration ceremony, full of surprises at Lakeside School. Afterwards the day unfolded with captivating student presentations, and a scrumptious lunch at the school facilities. The exploration continued with a tour of Mexico City, creating lasting memories before returning to the hotel for a delightful dinner.
Tuesday – October 31st:
After a nutritious breakfast, participants embarked on a journey to Teotihuacán archeological zone, where they experienced a guided tour and enjoyed lunch at the Teocalli Restaurant. The day concluded with an academic activity and a delicious dinner back at the hotel.
Wednesday – November 1st:
A new day started with breakfast at the hotel and a transfer to Chapultepec Castle. Engaging activities at the castle were followed by a visit to the Anthropology Museum, a delightful lunch at Vapiano Restaurant, and an immersive Day of the Dead experience at the Craft Market. The day ended with a dinner full of Mexican flavors back at the hotel.
Thursday – November 2nd:
Thursday brought excitement with a visit to Six Flags Mexico, complete with thrilling rides and a delightful lunch. The day concluded with a transfer back to the hotel and a relaxing dinner.
Friday – November 3rd:
The penultimate day included student presentations at Colegio Lakeside, followed by a very emotional closing ceremony at the Soumaya Museum. A cultural immersion continued with a Day of the Dead activity and a grand Mexican Gala dinner at Jose Luis Cuevas Museum to close the week.
Saturday – November 4th:
As the week came to a close, participants checked out and bid farewell to Mexico City, taking with them a treasure trove of memories and newfound knowledge.
