Excellent results at st john’s college

St John’s College is delighted to report outstanding achievements by our fantastic students in A levels following two years in Sixth Form like no other. Once again, this year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards.  The sample check of St John’s College included IT and Physics where the exam boards agreed with our Teacher Assessed Grades based on a sample of 2 years of past papers along with relevant coursework for each student. IT had a position of 100% A*-A and the average grade bounds of these two subjects were slightly higher than the College’s average %s.

We are delighted that over 90% of our pupils have secured their first-place choice at University.

Tom who achieved 3 x A*’s to start at University of Bristol studying Medicine, Harris who achieved 4 x A*s to start his PPE Degree at Warwick, Tom who achieved 3 x A*s and is starting his Live Event Technology degree at Southampton Solent University and Harry who achieve AAB and can start his GAP year with confidence.

Portia who achieved 2 x A*s and an A and is now confident to take this year to claim a place at Drama school, Kate who achieve ABB and is off to Queen Mary’s to study Languages, and Vy who achieved BBC and is off to start her International Business Management course at Southampton Solent.

GCSE Results 2021

Another positive morning here at St John’s College, Southsea as Year 11 collected their exam results. Lots of smiles and thanks for the staff who have supported this cohort through a challenging 2 years. The hard work and motivation of our students has paid off with an excellent set of results. 100% pass rate in English and Maths and a jump to 100% 5 passes including English and Maths.

Mrs Maguire, Head of College said: ‘Yet again our students have produced results which reflect the hard work and effort that they have put in. The teachers supported them to produce a robust set of evidence to ensure they achieved the best results in what has been very challenging 2 years of GCSE studies. Well done to them all!
