Swostishree Gurukul IB World School Excels at WIMUN NY 2024

Twenty students from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School, Nepal participated in the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) International Model UN (WIMUN) 2024 in New York City, USA.

Among the 800 participants from 47 countries, 10th-grade student Cyiera Shuvangini Bazagai was selected as a Plenary Speaker, representing Nepal. She delivered a poignant speech, focusing on “Best Wishes and Priorities for the United Nations for the Coming Year,” addressing health issues and showcasing Nepal’s role on the global stage. Swostishree Gurukul’s representation and active involvement in diverse interactions at the event highlighted its pioneering role as the first and only IB school in Nepal to participate in the UN’s global platform.

In addition to Cyiera’s remarkable achievement, the Swostishree Gurukul delegation received further won the Diplomacy Award “Best Delegate” at WIMUN NY 2024. Cyiera Shuvangini Bazagai received the award in the First Committee of the General Assembly, representing the United States of America, while Adhish Binod Pokharel secured the award in the World Health Assembly, representing France. This recognition is a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering excellence and leadership among its students.
