The “5 Days, 5 Changes” Campaign in Agora Sant Cugat International School to meet the new EU Energy Targets

International Schools Association

Agora Sant Cugat International School ->

Preparing each student to become a global citizen capable of changing the world is a priority for Agora Sant Cugat International School and one that we are especially focusing on right now with the pressing global need to reduce energy consumption to save the planet.

As a member of Globeducate, we share the group’s commitment to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Together with the Globeducate Eco-Schools’ Committees in ten countries, our students have launched a campaign to achieve the Number 12 Objective of the SDGs that refers to sustainable production and consumption and consists of conserving energy through five positive changes throughout the five days of the week focusing on:

Monday

Placing video consoles and devices into power-saving mode.

Tuesday

Unplugging fully charged devices.

Wednesday

Turning off the lights.

Thursday

Showering in less time and turning off the taps.

Friday

Enjoy playing traditional games.

Together we aim to face the challenge of saving energy to leave a lasting positive impact on all our students from Infant to Baccalaureate, all our staff and the entire school community and students are also taking these actions home with them to share with their families.

The idea is that these five small actions are five small steps multiplied by 365 days of the year by our almost 2,000 students and multiplied by the members of their families which add up to a great journey towards the reduction of CO2 and the preservation of our planet!
